Over the past few weeks I have had the privilege of meeting lots of amazing families who have visited my studio to take advantage of my Christmas Mini Sessions. There have been lots of reasons for parents requesting themed photographs of their babies and toddlers. Some families want the images to print onto Christmas cards, some parents want them as keepsake gifts and many families have been celebrating babies first Christmas. These themed images make beautiful gifts, both to give and receive.

Baby's Christmas Sleigh Ride PortraitBaby and Children's Christmas Photography It’s been lots of fun selecting props for this year’s Christmas sessions and I’ve sourced many of them from far and wide. I did get some strange looks purchasing a child’s sledge in the middle of September though. I’ve also particularly enjoyed enhancing my images with digital editing techniques. The majority of the work you see in my images is created in the studio but Photoshop is an amazing tool and I use it to give a fun twist to some of my photographs.

Christmas Mini SessionsSay Merry Christmas with a beautiful portrait. Recently, I have also been creating ‘Waiting for Santa’ portraits. The actual photograph of the baby or child sitting on the window ledge, in this particular set up below, only takes a few minutes to capture. All the magic and hard work goes into the editing. Composition and lighting are key factors to making this style of image work. The reaction to my ‘Waiting for Santa’ image has been overwhelming and I’m looking forward to a fun filled day on Saturday 10th Dec, as I have a full day of sessions booked.
